Never has there been a year more worthy of celebrating Volunteer’s Week than 2020.

These unprecedented times have seen true altruism and volunteering across Northern Ireland on a scale we have never experienced before. Across rural villages and communities’ people have responded to the call to volunteer in helping to support their neighbours making sure everyone stays safe.

Volunteers have been delivering food parcels, collecting prescriptions, or simply checking in on someone. Those who are fortunate enough to be at lower risk have been able to continue to provide for those that are unable to leave their homes. Once again, the rural community in Northern Ireland have really stepped up to the mark.

Through our ‘Inspiring Communities’ project we are seeking to showcase the amazing work that rural communities are engaged in right across rural Northern Ireland. More on this project coming soon. Watch this space.
